Christian Expeditionary Force is a Christian fellowship guild concentrated in the MMORPG World of Warcraft (WoW).  We are located on the Nordrassil (US) realm as the Alliance guild: IXOYE (armory), and, the Horde guild: All Who Are Weary (armory).  Our focus is IXOYE with AWAW as a place for those who wish to experience Horde and still remain within the clan.

Uniquely, we are primarily focused on fellowship.  The dictionary defines "fellowship" as "company; companionship" and "community of interest, activity, feeling, or experience".  The point of Christian Expeditionary Force is to create a group of friends who wish to experience the game together.  We make no promise or attempt to substitute our guild as a church.  Nor do we attempt to compete in hardcore raiding progression.  We enjoy the game together as people who share an interest and love in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are solidly and unwaveringly founded upon our faith in Jesus Christ.  For a quick summary of our beliefs take a look at the Nicene Creed. We acknowledge the authority of Scripture (the Bible).  We acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives.  Our guild is best described as "interdenominational".  Even within our leadership we have varying denominations (Lutheran, Assemblies, Charismatic). Our guild is made up of even more!

As a guild we also believe it is very important to distinguish ourselves apart from a church.  Although we may as friends minister, pray, and disciple each other. We realize we are only a guild and only a group of friends.  We may have Bible studies from time to time, but we feel this responsibility is more appropriately left in the hands of churches and in physical environment where accountability can be more reliably kept (both for the teacher and the student).  Read More...

We are not a raiding guild. However, we are a guild that raids.  That distinction is important.  Raiding is not our purpose.  Our purpose is to have fun together in an atmosphere that glorifies God.  However, we are a guild inside a computer game.  We play to be challenged and raiding is a great way for all of us to play together and continue to improve our game play.

Raid Schedule
Friday 5pm-8pm
Saturday 5pm-8pn
It should be noted that all raid times are tenative and that we may cancel or add raids throughout the week as players are available. This may make it difficult for  those who have strict schedules, but for most of our guild schedules are always conflicting.  We tend to raid when the opportunity arises even if it isn't on the schedule. One of the complaints common to social guilds is how difficult it can be for new members to find their place amongst friends who have known each other for months or even years. We have been mulling over a solution to this problem for quite awhile now. With the recent restructuring of the guild I felt it was an important step in that restructuring to encourage participation and fellowship not just of our new members but also our veteran members.

Check out the mentoring program page for more information.

Its been one busy summer here. I was taking a full time college load which meant doing 16 week courses in 8 weeks. It was nuts. Now that I've had some time to recover and rest I'll be renewing my subscription to WoW this upcoming week. Although some things worked in my absence, a great deal many did not. While I'm waiting for the money to renew my subscription I'll be taking the time to reevaluate how the entire guild works, its focus, mission, and where we want to take it. In the next few weeks expect some sweeping changes that I feel will really emphasize what we're really about (Glorifying God and fellowshipping with each other).

So after probably months of periodic work and experimentation our new website is finally online! We are moving off of WoWStead and here back home to stay! After countless issues with WoWStead including DAYS of downtime.  We've lost some functionality, but the stability and security of our current site is top notch. Not to mention I think it looks waaaaay nicer.

The site is by no means complete. Over the next coming months I hope to introduce a member screenshot gallery, raid history, event calendar, and a working application (right now we're using the forums for that). Anyway, the website is online. Let me know how you like it and if you experience any problems!

It's been a longtime dream of mine to have a regular e-newsletter for the guild. Well that dream is going to become a reality.  Kahn has offered his time and talent to putting together a newsletter. Him and I have been bouncing ideas back and forth for nearly a month, and I'm really excited about it.  We're still working out how often we'll post it (maybe weekly or bi-weekly with a big monthly).  They'll be regularly posted here on the site for the guild to read. So please welcome our new Guild Journalist and offer him your suggestions on this thread!

One of the biggest hurdles I was facing has been overcome! The big question I had was how we were going to continue to accept applications.  Well after HOURS of googling and looking through websites I found an awesome mod for phpbb.  Basically, it provides an application page and after the person fills it out it sends it to a hidden forum only the officers can see. So it will work almost exactly like our current wowstead setup but we'll have to reply to applications manually. We also won't have the nifty list of "accepted" or "denied" applications but I think I'll just create sub forums for them and I'll manually move them to declined or accepted.
