One of the biggest hurdles I was facing has been overcome! The big question I had was how we were going to continue to accept applications. Well after HOURS of googling and looking through websites I found an awesome mod for phpbb. Basically, it provides an application page and after the person fills it out it sends it to a hidden forum only the officers can see. So it will work almost exactly like our current wowstead setup but we'll have to reply to applications manually. We also won't have the nifty list of "accepted" or "denied" applications but I think I'll just create sub forums for them and I'll manually move them to declined or accepted.
The next hurdle now will be to modify the application page for our rather extensive application. I think I'm going to really cut down the application because its getting pretty big and even then its not really answering the questions we want. Please feel free to add suggestions for what you think would be helpful on the applications. In the end I think this will work great.
Our website is now very close to going live. All I need to do now is figure out how to get a menu integrated into phpbb3 so visitors can get back to the main site. I'm also considering making the "message board" link on the front page open in a new window. It'd be a temporary fix I think until I figure out a better looking solution.
I need to start work on the logo...still not sure what direction I am going to go with.
Donate page added. A paypal link is now on there. Amazon has this awesome store thing I'll be able to put up instead of constantly adding individual links. Still not sure how well it'll work inside Joomla, but we'll see. I can always just do the links. It doesn't really matter to me. But I think the amazon store is a cool way to allow members to contribute. In the normal course of buying things they'd normally buy they can contribute to the guild without paying anything extra.
What really got my attention were WoW GAME cards. Yes. People buy just buying game cards for game time in WoW can directly contribute to the guild.
My final long term task is a raid history mod. eqDKP looks like it has the most potential, but I'm not about to take on anything that massive right now with my classes in full swing. I think we can do without the raid history for awhile at least.
